IMS has been upgraded to an oil fed LN unit

Exterior: The Ocean Blue Metallic paint looks amazing and has been ceramic coated which continues to keep it protected for 5 more years. Forgestar F14 wheels finished in Golden Bronze fill the wheel wells perfectly and are wrapped in Hankook V12 tires with 700 miles on them. I love the amber lenses and rear wiper. Just the quirky little things that 996 chassis offers.

Interior: The size of the cabin is great for people below 6ft 6in. Generous yet intimate as the Graphite Grey leather covers the dash, doors, and seats. It is in worn well for being 22 yrs old. An Alpine head unit with bluetooth has been installed and automatically connects to your phone and immediately plays music once the car is started. All factory equipment works as Porsche intended.

Mechanics and Drive: Let’s start with modifications, Light weight flywheel, stage 2 clutch, Fresh oil fed IMS bearing, Fabspeed Mufflers, H&R sport springs. These upgrades combined give this 996 a very playful attitude. Weighing 2910lbs and having 315hp make for a very pleasurable experience. The steering on a 996 is better than any other 911 before or after. It is very light and direct, with plenty of feedback at the limit. The light weight flywheel makes downshifting so pleasurable. Just blip the throttle and the RPMs jump right up to the task. Part of the reason the blip is so quick is that 1999 Carreras had the last mechanical throttle bodies. A cable from your right foot right to the intake allows for precision steering from the go peddle. The mufflers add a few ponies, lose a few pounds, and the noise is deep and low. Suspension is tight and she loves being put through its paces.

History: The car was modified by its previous owner who wanted a street car that was track capable. The problem he ran into was when he had the clutch installed. They used a hodge podge of parts and the release arm and pivot didn’t match up. Because of this he was never able to make it to the track. Then a divorce forced him to sell. The repair order is included in the pics and shows the work that has been done by Northern Michigan’s premier Euro Specialist, Rally Imports in Midland.
